Today is our 5 year wedding anniversary... after looking online (because why would any guy know these things) I found out that the gift for 5 years of marriage is... ready for this... wood. I guess I didn't realize that every year gets it's own "theme." I expected 5, 10, 15, 20 , etc... to be associated with something cool but if you're going to give every year something you're bound to run into something lame like "wood." By the way, if any of you are coming up on #11 you'll be happy to know that "Steel" is your theme. Nothing says I love you like an I-beam.

Amy, thank you for 5 great years. I love you so much and am grateful that you actually said "yes" even though I asked you to marry me in the basement of my parents house on a commercial break... didn't see that coming, did you?! The past 5 years have been a great adventure along the west coast, I don't know where the next 5 will take us (hopefully back to the beach a few times at least) but I'm glad we'll be together with our wonderful children.

Buenos Dias

Wisteria has the most glorious buenos dias headboard. Mind you Finley still doesn't have a big girl bed to put it on yet (because she still sleeps in a crib) but wouldn't this be perfect!

And I also LOVE these Piccolo baby coins. I found them a while back. I desperately want to have them made of my two babies. You send the company a snapshot of your child and they etch it into the tiny silver coin and sting them around a thin chain. I hinted it to the Man in December. I told him that it would make a great mothers day gift, that day has come and gone...boo...

I love Summer!

I love Summer Time & I love outdoor movies.

I also love popcorn!!! Finley received this most scrumptious birthday surprise in the mail this weekend, a tin of popcorn bliss. We chowed this down this weekend during our Indiana Jones marathon. We know how badly you want to look better then us at the beach so we wont waste one morsel. Thanks Degraffs

I'm so addicted to this stuff I found this Popcorn Ball recipe @ good ole' Martha's site that needs some taste testing:

Ingredients

Makes about 56

• 4 quarts popped popcorn
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 10 ounces marshmallows
• 6 ounces white chocolate
• 1/3 cup sliced almonds
• Vegetable-oil cooking spray

Directions

1. Sprinkle popcorn with salt. Melt butter in a large pan over low heat. Add marshmallows and chocolate; cook, stirring until melted.
2. Remove from heat; stir in almonds and popcorn. Shape into balls using a 2-inch ice-cream scoop coated with cooking spray. Transfer to baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let stand 30 minutes. Can be stored airtight up to 1 day.

30 never tasted so good.
Here's how my new year began.

Yummy Saturday Brunch at the Black Bear Diner.
Sourdough French Toast, Buttermilk Biscuits and Gravy, Peppered Bacon, Scrambled Eggs & Hot Chocolate topped with Whipped Cream

That night we ate BBQ Tiger Dogs my fav (grilled hot dogs sliced in 1/2 topped with loads of diced tomatoes and English cucumbers) & root beer floats!!! Then cozied up to watch Juno .

The next day, after our Sunday Morning worship, we had a pancake feast complete with strawberries, thick cut bacon & orange juice all served up by this handsome man!

A long walk around the Temple grounds to shed some lbs., worked up our appetite so we headed home to end the celebrations (eating extravaganza) by devouring a scrumptious vanilla cake frosted in chocolate.
